In national security, there is what’s called the five-paragraph order way of presenting information, or SMEAC. It’s a way of strategizing that lays out all of the pertinent information and presents a problem and solution. We thought, given Elissa’s penchant for bringing strategic planning into her role as an elected official, we could apply that same format to our race at hand:
Situation: We are 8 weeks away from finding out who our Republican opponent will be, spending against us has ramped up, and our first ads of the campaign are on the air.
Mission: Hit our fundraising goals before our FEC fundraising deadline ends – this is our most important fundraising goal yet, and will shape the strength of our campaign as we enter the final months of this race.
Execution: This deadline is the first time, the majority of our fundraising has to come from lots and lots of people making small-dollar donations when they can afford it.
Administration / Logistics: We will use the resources raised to communicate with the undecided voters across the state who will determine who wins this race. We'll do it via organizing voter contact and communication as well as paid communication like television and digital ads.
Command: As the candidate, Elissa will be traveling the state and talking to voters, but as someone who knows what it takes to win tough races, she and our team will be making final decisions on budget allocation as well. We'll keep you up to date on our progress, but we can't do it without you.
You see our plan. Can you make a contribution to Elissa Slotkin's campaign for Senate to help us execute it and win this Senate race in Michigan?
