I hope you are all are enjoying your Summer -- going on walks, exploring on bikes and taking advantage of being on the lake and visiting cabins! Our kids are celebrating :)
I'm excited to report I was officially sworn in on May 28th as your next County Commissioner, with a public event on June 4th! Thank you for your help - I approach the work humbled and honored to represent our communities!
The District 6 County Office is up and running! I've hired two staff, I'm actively meeting with Mayors and City Managers across District 6, touring County facilities and meeting county department leaders to ensure I know the ins and outs of how the county works and what policy areas our district needs support to be an effective commissioner!
Tuesday, May 28th, prior to my swearing in, I officially resigned my position as State Representative for District 50A after completing the 2024 Legislative Session for my district. As I was not seeking re-election, there will NOT be a special election for this seat. The candidate that wins (please check out Julie Greene - she'll be great!) in November will be sworn in and take office in January prior to the 2025 Legislative Session.
Please contact me at my county office if there are any issues of concerns - I will be fielding questions and helping residents on both state and county issues until a new representative is elected!
Please be sure to invite me to local community events throughout our district or schedule a time to visit the county office by emailing me at [email protected] -- I look forward to seeing you all around this Summer!
Now, it's time to pivot and focus on winning again in November at which point I will begin my 4 year term! The match up with again be with Conservative Marissa Simonetti. I need your help to WIN -- please consider donating and signing up to help our campaign this Summer and Fall!
As always, together we can do great things!
P.S. Reminder you can bring your lawn sign in -- we will be putting them back up in late September to prepare for the November ballot. Thank you again for hosting them!
District 6 represents the communities of Deephaven, Edina, Excelsior, Greenwood, Hopkins, Long Lake, Minnetonka, Minnetonka Beach, Mound, Northern Eden Prairie, Orono, Shorewood, Spring Park, Tonka Bay, Woodland, and Wayzata.
