John –

The past several weeks have been exciting for all of us here at Texas Scorecard. Between covering the Republican Party of Texas Convention in San Antonio and the primary runoff races around the state, it has been a jam-packed schedule.

And all of it impacting life and liberty in the Lone Star State.

As I have traveled the state, one message has come through: Texans are done with the insider establishment in Austin.

This is evident considering that six grassroots Republican challengers defeated incumbents in Texas House runoff races. In addition to the previous nine victories back in March, a total of 15 incumbents were defeated in the 2024 Texas primaries, and even more grassroots victories were secured in seats made vacant by retiring incumbents.

Historically speaking, incumbents have a national success rate of 90-95% in primary elections. This year in Texas, only about 69% of incumbents secured victory.

I think it is safe to say that drastic changes will occur during the 2025 legislative session. Gone are the days of establishment politicians blindly pursuing the interests of corporate cronies over those of their constituents. Now, they will have to deal with a formidable freshmen class of grassroots representatives in 2025.

But first, many of them will have to get past the November election.

As we gear up to cover those General Election races, you can count on Texas Scorecard to deliver real news so that Texans know exactly what is really going on in their communities and beyond.

But we cannot do it alone! Your support [[link removed]] of Texas Scorecard allows us to cover the issues, events, and people impacting the Lone Star State. We don’t put our headlines and commentary behind paywalls, and we don’t receive funding from billion-dollar corporations looking to push an agenda.

We’re made by Texans who just want to read the news in context so that they can know where to be most effective.

Every dollar you give goes directly to equipping Texans with the tools they need to dominate government and culture. Already this year, because of supporters like you, we have been able to highlight the issues and topics that differentiate grassroots challengers from establishment incumbents.

Your gift [[link removed]] of $250, $145, $60, or just $24 [[link removed]] ensures we can continue to share daily headlines, election spotlights, and trustworthy commentary with Texans who need it more than ever!
