John,
A few weeks ago, my campaign team reached out to ask you to complete a survey and let us know which issues matter most to you. The most common concern among respondents was gun violence prevention and keeping our communities safe.
As we recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Month this June, I want to reiterate my commitment to preventing gun violence. As a mom of three school-aged children, I know the feeling of worrying about the safety of our children as they board the bus to school each day. I’ve promised parents who have lost children to gun violence that I will work tirelessly in their children’s honor to pass meaningful legislation — and those are promises I intend to keep.
In Congress, I have worked to find common ground on this issue and move common-sense gun violence prevention legislation forward, like the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act — the first gun violence prevention legislation signed into law in a generation. But we have so much more to do, and as Governor of Virginia, I will support laws that keep our families, our children, and our law enforcement officers safe.
Will you please join me in my efforts and support my campaign with a contribution today?

P.S. If you’re curious, the most prevalent issues of concern after gun violence were climate change, reproductive rights, and education.
