John,

It’s been a week since Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 felony counts for attempting to influence the outcome of the 2016 election.

You read that correctly. This was not about hush money payments or falsifying business records. Those are not felonies in New York.

The jury found Trump guilty on charges that those less serious acts were intended to influence the outcome of an election, something Trump and Republicans have accused Democrats of for years.

But the majority of voters don’t think the charges are serious enough to give Trump jail time, even though they agree he’s guilty. And this conviction hasn’t changed how they’ll vote.

John, we might not be able to stop Donald Trump in November, but we still have five months to stop enablers like Mike Simpson from continuing to aid and protect him in Congress.

I need everyone reading this to pitch in to my campaign TODAY so I can remove Mike Simpson from the House this year. Do I have your support?

The average American might not understand the extent of this conviction, but Republican lawmakers like Mike Simpson do.

Simpson understood the seriousness of Trump telling Putin on national television that he’d be “mightily rewarded” for releasing Hillary’s emails.

He understood the seriousness of Trump pressuring Ukraine to launch a baseless investigation into the Biden family, and withholding military aid unless President Zelensky followed his orders.

There’s no doubt he knew the seriousness of Trump sending his supporters to the Capitol on January 6, where Simpson witnessed firsthand the threat of a wannabe dictator.

All of those moments were attempts to influence an election, and still Mike Simpson endorsed him. Simpson wants Trump to get away with everything he’s done – and anything he’ll do next.

We are up against a political party that twists the truth, downplays crimes, and risks our national security and our democracy in the name of a lifelong criminal.

Nearly four years after Trump left office, the Republican base still can’t face reality. His enablers want to keep it that way.

It’s up to us to keep them out of Congress this year.

David Roth is a single, gay dad running for Idaho’s Second Congressional District. We’re going up against a GOP incumbent who has been in this seat for 25 years. It’s time for change in Idaho, and our grassroots campaign is building on the momentum that began in David’s race for U.S. Senate last cycle. The GOP is not planning to defend this seat, so we plan to take it from them and help Democrats retake the House majority next year. We’d love your support to build a solid campaign to bring progress to Idaho and the country.
