MAGA Republicans blocked the Right to Contraception Act, which would codify the right to contraception in federal law.

Now, it’s up to states to make decisions around access to birth control, and Republicans in state legislatures have only gotten more extreme in their attacks on reproductive freedom since the fall of Roe. This is why flipping the state legislatures from red to blue is crucial to ensure access to basic reproductive rights like access to birth control.

Strengthening state legislatures is at the very core of Emerge’s work. In fact, there are over 275 Emerge women up for election in state legislatures across the country this year including Sen. Molly Cook (TX), Sen. Eva Burch (AZ), Rep. Andrea Valderrama (OR) and many more fighting on the frontline to protect reproductive rights.
