My Kids Are Over The Big Birthday Bash, Thank God ([link removed])

“Around the time my kids were in first grade, we started hosting extravaganzas. What can I say? It was the era of Pinterest-perfect parties,” writes Holly Garcia today. “It was fine for a while, but eventually, I got overwhelmed, and honestly, my kids did too. And then, a couple of years ago, my oldest daughter admitted that the overwhelming nature of these shindigs was giving her more anxiety than joy.” So they created a new tradition… and it’s pretty heartwarming what her tweens actually want these days.

Even though they'll always be your baby, you might want to be sure they're working on becoming financially responsible. With that mission in mind, should you charge them rent?” Arielle Tschinkel gets into it.
