SUPPORT FAIR ELECTIONS

Friend-- By now you know we've had a lot of obstacles thrown our way in the lead up to 2021 redistricting. Here's where we stand:
-- FIRST: The Supreme Court ruled that federal courts were powerless to stop partisan gerrymandering, making our state-by-state strategy to advocate for fair maps absolutely essential.
-- THEN: It became clear that map manipulators had a state strategy of their own. From lawsuits in Michigan to legislative trickery in Arizona, there has been a coordinated effort to resist, restrict, or undo citizen-led redistricting reform.
-- NOW: We're looking at a dangerous cocktail for our democracy. Ever since Chief Justice Roberts' Supreme Court struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights Act in 2013, we've seen reinvigorated voter suppression efforts. These efforts continue to gain steam, even at this time when protecting access to the ballot box is all the more important.
Map manipulators are eager to use voter suppression to protect their power in the 2020 elections before lines are redrawn next year. Now our citizen-led campaign has to fight for safe and accessible elections at the same time we're preparing for 2021.
You'll be hearing more from us in the coming weeks about how this will affect our work and how you can get involved. But we know it's going to take more resources than we had accounted for. Can you donate to help us prepare for the new fight ahead?
