John, did you see me on MSNBC this morning?
This morning, I went on Morning Joe to talk about the responsibility each and every one of us has to defend our democracy and protect our freedoms in 2024.
When you look at the arc of our country, John, we’re a nation that has always looked toward the future. Of course, sometimes it feels like when our country takes two steps forward — we take one step backward not long after. But throughout our American story, we’ve always advanced toward progress.
And in 2024, we must continue marching forward.
This election year isn’t just about names on a ballot. It’s about our democracy as a whole. It’s about our most fundamental rights. And it’s about what kind of country we want to live in: A nation that is principled, dependable, and responsible — or one where we move backwards and lose our freedoms.
The election in November is about all of us and whether we can defend real freedom in this country.
If we still value honor and decency, and are willing to do this work to defend our democracy.
The responsibility falls on all of us to build a future we are proud of. I’m going to fight like hell to make sure we elect leaders committed to decency, freedom and progress at every level, and I hope you’ll join me by chipping in today.
