Tomorrow is National Gun Violence Awareness Day, and this weekend is Wear Orange Weekend. You’re invited to join WAVE and others across the country in wearing orange to honor victims and survivors of gun violence.
Wear Orange on June 7 and 8. Encourage your friends, family, and co-workers to do the same. Share photos on social media using the hashtag #WearOrangeWI.
Let survivors of gun violence know they can share their stories and honor loved onesthrough our Digital Memorial. Each person can indicate whether they would like their story to be shared publicly, and each submission can include a photo. Stories can be submitted and updated through Friday, June 14.
Write a letter to the editor about the importance of commonsense gun laws. Letters to the editor help raise awareness and show elected officials that there is broad support for these policies.
This weekend will be powerful for so many reasons, and we’re grateful for people like you across our state who are strengthening the gun violence prevention movement each year.
