Yesterday, Senate Republicans voted almost unanimously to block the Right to Contraception Act. This crucial bill would codify a federal right for all Americans to access and use the birth control that works best for them. The bill failed on a vote of 51-39, falling short of the 60 votes needed.

This result is horrifying and infuriating.

Access to contraception is essential to health and economic well-being. It allows everyone to have the families they choose. These are fundamental rights.
