John —
We’ve waited 15 years for congestion pricing.
But just yesterday, Governor Kathy Hochul indefinitely paused the congestion pricing program that was set to go into effect in New York City at the end of June.
Delaying congestion pricing will derail our chance to create a modern, accessible transit system. It will deprive our city of cleaner air, safer streets, and a more thriving economy.
If you agree that New Yorkers have already waited too long for a congestion pricing program, we want to hear your thoughts. Will you sign on with Brad to show your support for congestion pricing?
From the time he was a City Council member, Brad has long been an advocate of congestion pricing (and for those of you who disagree, we hear you and welcome your feedback, too).
Here’s why:
- It's good for our subways! Congestion pricing will provide our transit system with the sorely needed resources to finally modernize signals and improve service.
- Congestion pricing is good for traffic, decreasing the number of cars on the road and leading to safer streets.
- And it's GREAT for the environment — reducing air pollution and improving the air in NYC.
We can’t let short-term politics derail broad long-term benefits. We need leaders with courage and eyes on the long term.
Please add your name and share your thoughts.
Thank you,
Team Lander
