When I ran my first race for City Council in Richmond, I didn't win all
by myself. I won because of the incredible supporters and volunteers
who knocked on doors, made calls, organized precincts, and talked
to their friends about why the race mattered.

Getting to know those folks was important to me then -- and it still is
today.

That's why when the team at HQ asked me if I was interested in
