This email is a little longer than usual, but it’s important, so I hope you’ll read to the end. It introduces you to three North Carolina Democrats who will help DEFEAT the GOP supermajority in Raleigh and block Republicans’ far-right agenda.

If you don’t need to read any further, you can go ahead and split a donation between our team and each of their campaigns here. [[link removed]]

John, as we’ve seen, Republican lawmakers are eager to roll back our most fundamental rights and enact radical legislation that is disastrous for North Carolina. Last year, the GOP supermajority — aided by a Democrat who schemed to switch parties — passed a dangerous abortion ban, overriding my veto by just one vote.

To prevent the GOP from doing further harm, we must break the supermajority — and I want to introduce you to three candidates whose races are key to the fight. I also need to ask you to split a contribution between their campaigns and our team to help them win their critical elections: [[link removed]]

Nicole Sidman is the Democratic nominee to defeat Tricia Cotham — whose party switch granted the GOP their supermajority. Nicole is an attorney and former PTA president who will keep up the fight to protect and restore our fundamental rights, including access to abortion care. We can count on her to represent House District 105 faithfully.

David Hill is a pediatrician who has spent his career serving North Carolina children and families. Now the Democratic nominee for State Senate District 7, David is ready to put the people of southeastern NC first. He will fight for a cleaner environment, great schools, great roads, good jobs, and an affordable cost of living. The outcome of this race in New Hanover County could be a bellwether for Democratic success across the state.

Beth Helfrich is a lifelong North Carolinian and graduate of North Mecklenburg High School and Davidson College. She’s a former educator (and daughter of two teachers!), small business owner, and mom of five running to represent House District 98. She’s a fierce advocate for public education and knows the threat that Republicans pose to our schools. She’ll fight for access to abortion, quality child care, and health care in every community. She is ready to stand up to the gun lobby to protect our communities and polluters who would imperil our clean air and water. This seat is open, so it may be one of our best chances to break the supermajority.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished in my time as governor, but I know there’s so much more work to do. Our ability to create progress on the issues that matter most comes down to electing Democratic legislators we can count on. I know that Nicole, David, and Beth will be strong advocates for making North Carolina a stronger state for all of us.

These three candidates and I are counting on your support right now. Please, split a donation of any size among our teams to help North Carolina Democrats break the supermajority! [[link removed]]

North Carolina is set to be one of the most important swing states in the 2024 elections.

Republicans need to win NC to return Donald Trump to the White House. Meanwhile, Roy is committed to flipping our state blue for President Biden.

Roy is term-limited and can’t run again this time, and our upcoming gubernatorial election is considered the most competitive gubernatorial contest in the country. Meanwhile, Republicans hold just one-seat supermajorities in both chambers of the state legislature — we MUST break the supermajorities to prevent the GOP from enacting their radical agenda in North Carolina.

Join Roy in the fight to elect Democrats at every level of the North Carolina ballot this November. Donate today. [[link removed]]
