As the U.S. continues to greenlight the ongoing genocide against Palestinians, it’s vital to know where our elected officials stand

Dear Email,

We are excited to announce the release of our 2024 Congressional Scorecard, highlighting where Democratic Members of Congress stand on Palestinian rights. As the United States continues to fund and provide political and financial cover for the ongoing genocide against Palestinians, it is vital to know where our elected officials stand.

Our comprehensive scorecard evaluates each Democratic Member of Congress based on their voting record, participation in congressional letters, statements, and cosponsorship of legislation. Nearly nine months into the genocide, simply calling for a ceasefire is not enough. Understanding how our Representatives and Senators have voted is crucial as we approach the upcoming election during this critical time.

This year, we have decided to exclusively assess Democratic Members of Congress, both in the House and Senate, and have opted not to score Republicans. This decision stems from our preliminary research that uncovered little to no discernible support for the Palestinian cause among elected Republicans.

Our methodology is based on two fundamental principles: objectivity and thoroughness. We have gathered every vote cast in the House and Senate, every "Dear Colleague" letter, whether supportive or not, every major piece of legislation related to Palestine that Members had the opportunity to introduce or cosponsor, and all significant statements made by Members on Palestine since October 7.

For our Congressional scorecard, we analyzed over 20,000 data points denoting where Members have stood on the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza since October 7, 2023. We've also differentiated between the Senate and House, recognizing that the dynamics and weight of Senators' positions differ from those of House Members.

For more information, you can read our detailed methodology and review the scorecard data here.

Thank you for your continued support.

In solidarity,

Ayah Ziyadeh
