The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced it would drastically loosen environmental protections due to coronavirus. Not only is that nonsensical, but it's also dangerous.
According to the New York Times, the EPA will allow "power plants, factories and other facilities to determine for themselves if they are able to meet legal requirements on reporting air and water pollution."
Using a global health crisis as a guise to loosen environmental protections is a new low for the Trump Administration. If you, like Linda, expect the EPA to do its job and protect our air and waterways, SIGN our petition>>
To think the EPA is loosening regulations on air quality because of a global disease that is more likely to affect people with respiratory issues is incredibly short-sighted and unfounded.
On top of that, asking corporate polluters to regulate themselves is like asking the fox to guard the hen house. We have the EPA for a reason: to ensure our natural resources are protected and safe.
Will you demand the EPA enforce environmental protections by signing on?
Thank you for taking action,
