Hey — happy pride! Speaking for myself, I’m proud to be the first openly LGBTQ+ Native American woman ever to serve in Congress. I’m proud to work on behalf of a nation that, for all the challenges we face, has made amazing strides when it comes to the fight for equality. I’m proud that just by being here, I’m breaking the mold for what kinds of people we expect to get the opportunity to serve in Congress. And I’m proud to work my heart out every single day to fight back against discrimination and injustice — and build a future where every American can live openly as who they are, safely and with dignity. If you’re an LGBTQ+ person reading this email, please know there are millions of us standing with you and supporting you today — whether you’re reading this while actively marching in a parade somewhere or still struggling with whether, when, or how to come out to the people in your life. You deserve to be proud of who you are. Thanks so much for your support, and happy pride! -Sharice P.S. If you believe that people like me belong in Congress — and you like what I’ve been up to during my time serving — I’d be so grateful if you could make a donation to help me win this incredibly competitive re-election campaign.
