I won’t lie: I wasn’t thrilled to see the news that Republicans broke fundraising records after Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts.

But I will admit that I wasn’t too surprised.

This election is serious. Will we be a country that stands up for democracy, justice, and the rule of law?

Or will we be a country that elevates a convicted felon to the highest office in the land?

The stakes are high, and they’re only getting higher.

The top consultant for one of my MAGA opponents in this race is talking a big game: He’s telling supporters to keep their eyes on this race because it will be competitive. 

So it’s on us to prove him wrong. I know Virginians are good people who care about decency and justice.

I know Virginians don’t want to see our Commonwealth fall to a MAGA extremist.

And I know Virginians will stand up for our values.
