In my years working in pre-hospital care I saw many people of different ages die from uncontrollable bleeding where first responders and civilians were unaware of the existence of basic hemorrhage control techniques. This generated in me the need to teach how to save lives through the STOP THE BLEED® program. (translated from Spanish)

Training is at the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign and STOP THE BLEED® Instructors are the ones that make the heart beat! The Instructor Spotlight shines a bright light on individuals engaging their communities about STOP THE BLEED®.

As a former trauma room nurse and currently a school nurse I understand the importance of being prepared in bleeding injuries. During my presentation I speak that it is important to know how to stop bleeding because accidents can occur anywhere. Being able to provide immediate response will save lives. I educate, demonstrate and have return demonstration for the adult staff in my building on STOP THE BLEED® every year. I also teach teen Girl Scouts STOP THE BLEED® for our week long day camp every summer.

The Coalition is a community of individuals and organizations who are passionate about the STOP THE BLEED® campaign. The Coalition’s goal is to support the growth and impact of the campaign by providing access to information and services to the growing STOP THE BLEED® community as well as financial support to the STOP THE BLEED® Project.

STOP THE BLEED® is a national campaign to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. It is a public/private partnership led by the Department of Defense and many other stakeholders, including the Stop the Bleed Coalition.
