Pride Month is about honoring the LGBTQ+ trailblazers who have bravely fought for our rights throughout history. It’s about celebrating the joy, authenticity, and freedom that every LGBTQ+ person deserves. It’s about recognizing how far we’ve come, and how far we have left to go. Don’t forget, Pride began as a protest.

Fair Fight Action’s vision for Georgia — and our democracy — includes everyone. That means making sure our laws protect our queer, trans, and nonbinary neighbors, not target them. But once again, right wing extremists have waged relentless attacks on LGBTQ+ folks across the country this year — including right here in Georgia.

Nearly 20 anti-LGBTQ+ bills were introduced during this past legislative session, including hateful and discriminatory bills like Senate Bill 88 and House Bill 1128 that could have furthered anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment in our state:

*
Senate
Bill
88,
a
“Don’t
Say
Gay''
bill,
singled
out
the
topic
of

in

for
specific
regulation

a
practice
that
could
stigmatize

youth
and
would
have

to

House
Bill
1128
opened
the
door
for
discrimination
against
people
whose
gender

and
sought
to
remove
sexual

It
would

Thankfully, these bills did not pass — but that doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying. A gift from you today can help mobilize against harmful legislation and respond to future threats to our fundamental rights and more. [[link removed]]

It’s no surprise that the same lawmakers working to restrict the right to vote are also attacking the LGBTQ+ community. When we have the freedom to make our voices heard at the ballot box, we have more power to protect LGBTQ+ rights and stop anti-LGBTQ+ extremism.

We won’t let these attacks rain on our Pride parade — here’s to showing up fully and authentically this month!
