Dear NRDC Supporter,

I'm a senior scientist here at NRDC, and I need your help.

I've been studying neonic pesticides and their impact on
our health and environment for years, and what the science tells
us is truly disturbing.

They aren't just wiping out pollinators. Neonics are
impacting our food supply and are linked to alarming birth
defects.

Unfortunately, the science hasn't been enough to compel the
EPA to take action. In fact, they are poised to drag out a
long-overdue safety review of these bee-killing pesticides for
two more years, signaling they aren't taking these threats
seriously.

So we're launching a new public pressure campaign to
convince the EPA to act immediately to restrict these ultra-toxic
pesticides, and we're preparing to go to court again to hold the
agency accountable.

Donate just $5 and make TWICE the impact to protect
pollinators, our food supply, and our health. For a few more
hours, your tax-deductible donation will DOUBLE, up to $20,000,
to protect our environment on all fronts. ( [link removed] )

Many healthy vegetables, fruits, and nuts depend on bees
and pollinators. And because pollinators keep disappearing, we're
producing less and less of these essential crops.

Just one seed coated in neonics can contain enough poison
to kill a quarter of a million bees. But the trail of toxic
destruction doesn't end with pollinators.

Neonics can also pass from pregnant mothers to their
fetuses and from breast milk to nursing newborns. Exposures to
neonics in the womb are linked to an increased risk for birth
defects like malformations of the developing heart and brain.

It's absolutely unconscionable that the EPA continues to
drag out its review of neonic pesticides.

For the sake of our food supply and the youngest, most
vulnerable among us, we can't wait for the EPA to act.

Donate $5 before midnight and make TWICE the impact to
power NRDC's pressure campaign against neonic pesticides and
protect our environment on all fronts. ( [link removed] )

Despite the recent setback with the EPA, there are reasons
to hope:

* Thanks to on-the-ground advocacy, new restrictions in
California are expected to slash neonic use by nearly half
* NRDC's campaign in New York led to a ban on most neonic-coated
seeds, which will eliminate up to 80 to 90% of the toxin entering
the environment there
* Other states like Nevada and New Jersey have taken tough action
to limit neonics

Help build on this progress with your 2x MATCHED gift of
just $5 before midnight. ( [link removed] )

Thanks for giving all of us here at NRDC the resources we
need to keep winning for pollinators, our food supply, and our
health.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jennifer Sass
