Greetings! Did you see Nancy Pelosi just announced that there won’t be votes in the House of Representatives until May 4th at the earliest?!? With everything going on right now, this is a MASSIVE dereliction of duty. She’s made Congress AWOL in our war against this invisible enemy! Healthcare workers, first responders, grocery store staff, sanitation workers and many more are putting the United States on their backs and carrying our country through this emergency. They understand the risk they face and are making the sacrifice on the frontline. It’s time for Congress to do the same! Speaker Pelosi needs to understand that when it comes to serving the United States of America, no risk is too great. Personal sacrifices are part of the job description. Please join me in telling my colleagues in Congress to get back to work NOW! TELL CONGRESS TO GET BACK TO WORK Thank you! SSG Brian Mast, U.S. Army (ret.) United States Congressman, FL-18 ---------Forwarded Message------- From: Team Mast Date: Thu, Apr. 2, 2020 at 10:45 AM Subject: Where is the urgency? Greetings! Speaker Pelosi just announced that Congress won’t go back to work in Washington, D.C. until April 20th at the earliest. With everything going on right now, this is a terrible dereliction of duty! As a retired bomb disposal expert for the U.S. Army, Congressman Mast understands that every job comes with a set of risks. In our current climate, everything we do can put our health at risk, but when Members of Congress run for office, they need to understand there will be personal sacrifices for the betterment of our great nation. Congress needs to get back to work ASAP! Healthcare professionals, staff at grocery store checkouts, sanitation workers, police, firefighters and many more are selflessly working to help our communities. Like being on the frontlines of the battlefield, they are putting themselves on the frontline of this crisis - service before self. It is an insult to all of these essential employees that Speaker Pelosi isn’t calling Congress back into session RIGHT NOW to help support them. If you agree, please sign our petition to tell Congress to get back to work! TELL CONGRESS TO GET BACK TO WORK Did you see the videos that Congressman Mast filmed in the capitol last week? It was empty! And, he is rightly EMBARRASSED by many of his fellow members of Congress like Speaker Pelosi who refuse to do their jobs in this moment of crisis. Their constituents need them now more than ever, yet they are absent at our nation’s capital. There is just absolutely no sense of urgency. Here’s the bottom line: their jobs can still be done while following the social distancing guidelines. They can implement new policies to make the work safer, such as enforcing six feet of distance between each other, but they still need to do the work! That’s why we’re reaching out today. If you feel as we do, will you help us send this message far and wide by signing our petition and sharing it with your friends?
