Friends, this month marks two years since Donald Trump’s handpicked Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. 

Many on the right — including Trump himself — have tried to distance themselves from this cruel policy. 

But today, the GOP made it crystal clear where they stand on women’s reproductive rights in voting down the Right to Contraception Act in the Senate — a bill that would guarantee the right for people to obtain and use contraceptives and for health providers to prescribe and give information related to contraception, free from government interference. 

I was proud to vote ‘yes’ in favor of the legislation because I believe reproductive health care is essential health care.

The Republican Senators who blocked this bill deserve to be held accountable. And there’s only one way to achieve that — by electing a pro-choice Democratic Senate this November to restore women’s rights — including the protections of Roe.
