Dear John,

Eighty years ago tonight and an ocean away, 156,000 soldiers from the United States and our allies landed on the beaches of Normandy to help save the world from Adolf Hitler and his Third Reich. Sixteen million Americans served during World War II.

Through decades of conflict around the world, we honor and remember those who marched into harm’s way to sustain our freedom and liberty, including those who defended our U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 from insurrection.

Convicted felon Donald Trump demeans America’s wounded veterans. He’s said many look weak and timid. He doesn’t want to be seen with them. Trump calls our brave, wounded veterans words we won't repeat here

Instead of honoring and respecting the American flag, Donald Trump uses it as a reality show costume. A prop for self-promotion.

Trump praises Vladimir Putin as a "genius." He says the criminals who attacked the Capitol are "patriots." He calls his opponents "vermin." He says immigrants are "poisoning the blood" of our country.

Now Donald Trump wants to dismantle our democracy with the MAGA Project 2025 scheme.

Now, we must act to save it.

Too many don’t yet recognize the imminent threat he and other MAGA leaders pose. It’s a perspective clouded perhaps by frustration, worry, and doubt.

This election demands our time and attention. Our voices are needed to sound the alarm about Trump’s autocratic schemes.
