Hi there,

While we’re practicing social distancing, we’re also working on a strategy to take back our democracy — because there’s a lot we can still do while working to flatten the curve. Last week, we shared resources for giving and receiving support during this pandemic. Thank you to everyone who continues to help their communities in this crisis.

This week, we’re sharing some reading recommendations. Staying informed on the critical challenges facing our country is the first step to addressing them.

We hope you enjoy, and thank you for being in this fight with us.

Coronavirus Doesn’t Slow Trump’s Regulatory Rollbacks
While legislators, scientists, and health professionals are hard at work providing relief for COVID-19, the Trump administration continues its environmental deregulatory agenda — denying requests to extend the public comment periods. The rollbacks include: weakening Obama-era fuel efficiency standards; relaxing restrictions on toxic ash from coal plants and mercury emissions; and negating climate change considerations on environmental reviews.
