John,
Life is changing before our eyes. With COVID-19’s rapid spread, we’ve witnessed first-hand institutions we once took for granted being put to the test in ways we couldn’t have imagined just months ago.
And while I'm so glad to see the federal government step up to provide benefits to workers impacted by our economy's shutdown, it shouldn't take a crisis for us to realize we're not doing enough to support hardworking families.
Before the coronavirus arrived here, Montana's income inequality was already growing at a faster rate than any other state. That's why I was leading the Montana House Finance Committee on revising our current tax code. My goal is to have a tax system where everybody pays their fair share, and working families don't carry the brunt of our state tax system - which they currently do. Now, approximately 17,000 Montanans have filed for unemployment as a result of this pandemic.
We need to do better for our fellow Montanans. As Attorney General, it's my job to ensure justice for all -- including economic justice. I'll ensure our policies promote fair laws that support working families. Individuals need to be able to work for a fair wage that supports their family, be free from harassment or discrimination at their work, have the opportunity to come together and demand fair work conditions, and have equal pay for women and men.
To do this I need your help. We're less than two months away from the primary election, and we're charting our path to victory so I can keep fighting for hardworking Montanans. Right now, we still need to raise $778 to hit our mid-month benchmark. Pitch in now so that I can keep stepping up for economic justice as Montana's Attorney General.

When there are laws that are leaving Montanans behind, they need to be changed. I've helped to lift communities out of financial problems before, and I will continue to fight for economic justice as your next Attorney General.
Please donate and help us raise the last $778 to our goal right now so I can fight for economic justice for all Montanans in the Attorney General's office.
