This past weekend, the Texas GOP voted on a platform including striking a law protecting abortion providers from being charged with murder.

I am incredibly disheartened by this news. Less than 2 years after the Dobbs decision, we have seen countless attempts to restrict abortion access across the nation. Now, we need to work to protect this right at the federal level.

Looking ahead, we must elect a pro-choice majority to Congress in November to halt any and all extremist efforts to pass anti-abortion legislation nationwide. The road to this majority starts right in Rhode Island — and I am determined to work to codify the protections of Roe v. Wade into federal law.
