Better Playbook For Future Emergencies

In our June issue focusing on Reimagining Public Health ([link removed] ) , Jennifer Nuzzo of Brown University and her team of coauthors describe their Testing Playbook for Biological Emergencies ([link removed] ) , a proposed national testing playbook.

The authors suggest that the United States’ relatively poor response to the COVID-19 pandemic could be in part due to the lack of a national testing playbook.

Their playbook outlines testing priorities for 6 phases of a response to a biological crisis, and aims to “add nuance and structure to existing preparedness plans, enabling more effective decision making.”
