Friend --
We hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy in these challenging and uncertain times.
The Covid-19 pandemic has powerfully disrupted our lives. It’s also revealed that election systems long-deserving of reform are showing new fragility.
We at FairVote are paying close attention to the presidential primaries and the general election. There is no more important time to ensure safe, secure and fair elections.
Please join us and contact your Governor, asking them to release a comprehensive
plan to ensure all citizens
have a safe way to register and vote this November.
We know
elections can be better. Alaska is a great example: long before the
pandemic, Democrats shifted to vote-by-mail and used
ranked choice voting as an
alternative to the caucus system. In Alaska, instead of moving your
body when your candidate is no longer viable, you can rank candidates
in the safety of your home.
If you’re interested in talking with advocates on the ground about ranked choice voting in their state for the presidential primary season, join us Thursday, April 16 at 1pm ET.
We’ll have a live conversation
about the different election systems used in Wisconsin, Alaska and
Washington’s for the 2020 Presidential Primaries differences. Deb
Otis, FairVote Data Analyst will moderate a discussion with Mohit
Nair, FairVote Washington Partnerships Director; Bob Betzig, FairVote
Wisconsin President and Field Director; and Amber Lee, PR Consultant
for FairVote’s Presidential Primaries education project in Alaska.

We hope to see you there!
