Big news! Just days ago, General Dynamics opened up their new munitions plant in Mesquite! Texas has a long tradition of supporting our military industrial base and when the plant reaches full production, it will bring 350 good-paying jobs to our community. The new plant, powered by North Texas workers, will make munitions that will support Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

As a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in Congress, I traveled to Ukraine and met with President Zelenskyy in January of 2022, right before Putin’s unjust invasion. I let President Zelenskyy know that the United States stands with Ukraine in the fight for their country, democracy and the right to self-determination. In April, Congress passed a bipartisan national security package that affirmed that commitment to help Ukraine defend itself, while supporting U.S. workers and companies, including funding that for the new General Dynamics plant in Mesquite.

Support for our allies around the world strengthens our economy here at home and also sends an important message to Russia and other autocratic nations: the U.S. stands united in defense of democracy and democratic values.
