What are they thinking? The EPAs continued delay sentences
bees, butterflies, and other pollinators to an uncertain future

For two days only, your gift will DOUBLE, up to $20,000, to
help us protect pollinators and our environment in the face of a
major setback. Even $5 makes a difference.

Dear NRDC Supporter,

How many more pollinators will ultra-toxic neonic
pesticides wipe out over the next two years? We're about to find
out.

The EPA has delayed its long-overdue safety review of these
bee-killing pesticides for up to two more years.

Bees and butterflies can't wait — they're dying right now.

NRDC is ready to hold the EPA accountable in federal court
(yet again) and we're ramping up our state and federal campaigns
to restrict these toxic pesticides — but we need your help to
raise $20,000 by midnight tomorrow to power this work. Can bees
count on you?

Donate just $5 before midnight tomorrow and a donor will
MATCH your gift, up to $20,000, to help us protect pollinators
and our environment at this critical moment. ( [link removed] )

The EPA's inaction could have devastating consequences for
not only pollinators hanging on by a thread, but also our food
supply and human health.

The science couldn't be more clear:

* As Big Ag's neonic binge exploded, honeybee colonies died off
at an annual rate of 40% over the past 12 years, forcing
beekeepers to work frantically to replace lost hives
* A forthcoming study found neonics are the number one cause of
butterfly declines in the midwestern U.S., more than habitat loss
or climate change
* Even the EPA's own analysis concluded that neonics are driving
200 endangered and threatened species toward extinction
* Neonics have been linked to an increased risk for birth defects
in humans, like malformations of the developing heart and brain,
as well as an increased risk of neurological symptoms

It's no wonder Europe and Canada have restricted the use of
neonics. But in the United States, the agrochemical industry's
enormous influence has so far stymied the bold action needed to
bring pollinators back from the brink.

You can make 2x the impact to help us change that:

Make a 2x MATCHED gift of $5 to NRDC by midnight tomorrow
to help power our legal battle to hold the EPA accountable,
restrict neonic pesticides in more states across the country, and
protect our environment on all fronts. ( [link removed] )

It was your support of NRDC and our allies' courtroom
action that forced the EPA to take a hard look at the impact of
neonics on endangered species. And with your backing, we've also
secured important victories limiting the use of neonics in states
like New York and California.

Help us hold the EPA accountable while we continue
pressuring more states to ban bee-killing uses of neonic
pesticides. ( [link removed] )

Thanks for sticking up for bees and butterflies when they
need it most.

Sincerely,

Dan Raichel
