The AECC aims to enhance early education career pathways for Black and Latina women in Wards 7 and 8 and improve overall quality of early education in DC. It reached 222 participants over two years.
DC has begun implementing innovative child care subsidy policies and practices designed to increase the supply of accessible quality care and facilitate families’ access. This project examines the application and outcomes of DC’s subsidy policies.
Overall, early childhood educators reported ease in applying for and receiving payments from the Pay Equity Fund. They experienced significant stress relief after receiving fund payments, alleviating financial worries and improving emotional well-being.
