This webinar will explore the forces moving the U.S. and China towards conflict; describe the likely outcomes of a clash between these great powers; and provide information on how citizens can work to avert what could become America’s greatest foreign policy disaster.

Panelists:


Jodie Evans has been a peace, environmental, women's rights and social justice activist for over fifty years. She is the co-founder of CODEPINK. She has published two books, "Stop the Next War Now" and "Twilight of Empire," and executive produced several documentary films, including the Oscar and Emmy-nominated "The Most Dangerous Man in America," Netflix's "The Square," and Naomi Klein’s “This Changes Everything.” Jodie will be the webinar moderator.


Michael Wongis the vice president of the San Francisco chapter of Veterans for Peace. He has been an anti-war activist since the Vietnam era and is currently working to raise awareness and organize against the dangers of a new Cold War with China.

Haig Hovanessis a peace activist with a professional background in information technology. He is the Co-Chair of the Peace Action Committee of the Green Party of the United States (GPAX). He has written and presented on a variety of defense-related technology issues. He holds an MBA from New York University.

Ryan Swan,a member of GPAX, is a Gerda Henkel Doctoral Scholar in the Special Program for Security, Society, and the State. His doctoral research at the University of Bonn focuses on the strategic effects of emerging military technologies on deterrence dynamics. He holds an M.Phil. in International Relations and Politics from Trinity Hall, Cambridge and a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law.

Megan Russell is CODEPINK's China is Not Our Enemy Campaign Coordinator. Megan graduated from the London School of Economics with a master’s degree in Conflict Studies. Megan spent one year studying in Shanghai, and over eight years studying Chinese Mandarin. Her research focuses on the intersection between US-China affairs, peacebuilding, and international development.
