John, I know that you and I aren’t strangers, but now that we’re well into election season, I want to reintroduce myself.
I’m Sarah Klee Hood, Democratic candidate running for Congress to flip NY-22 blue. I’m a born-and-raised Central New Yorker, local elected leader, U.S. Air Force veteran, and mom to two wonderful girls.
In 2022, I ran to represent this same seat. A crypto SuperPAC spent $500,000 to defeat me, but our scrappy campaign still came within only 1,100 votes of winning.
Then, Democrats lost this district and the House. Now, our community is represented by Rep. Brandon Williams, an extremist Republican funded by far-right billionaires.
This time around, things are different. Since launching my campaign almost a year ago, we’ve been fueled by over 22,000 grassroots supporters! We have the momentum to win this seat back for Central New York working families and flip the House blue.
But I know that my opponents’ corporate backers and special interests groups are going to flood our community with cash to try to crush my chances of winning – just like they did in 2022. With your grassroots support, I know we’ll win this seat back.
