John, While it was heartening to see the judicial system act to hold Trump accountable with the unanimous, guilty decision, this is an important step on a long journey.
Last week, the people of our district chose our next representative in Congress. This was the first election in 28 years that my name was not on the ballot, but I was pleased with a spirited campaign with contenders dedicated to continuing my progressive record.
I congratulate Maxine Dexter on her primary election victory to represent us in this next critical election. She remains committed to working on our priorities: affordable housing, justice, protecting the environment, and the search for peace.
Control of the House of Representatives will be on the line in the next Congress. We have our opportunities right here in the northwest to determine who is in charge. The margin in closely divided Congress could be victories by Janelle Bynum, Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Val Hoyle, and Andrea Salinas. I look forward to working with the new team of Democratic candidates toward their success in this brutal environment and high stakes campaigns.
We have our work cut out for us, and I'm eager to start. I hope you will join me in this fight!
Courage,
Earl
