But there’s really good news: We’ve made SO much progress together in the past few years — from mandating that the world’s biggest corporations measure and publicly disclose their pollution to phasing out single-use packaging and gas-powered vehicles.

We know that our government is capable of the massive change it’s going to take for us to solve the climate crisis and do it equitably and justly because we’ve seen the proof in these past few years.

A recent report says that California has to triple its rate of pollution reduction each year to meet our current climate laws and commitments as a state.

Just because we’ve made so much progress these past few years doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels. While 2023 saw many monumental wins, this progress was sometimes undercut by actions and policies that moved us in the opposite direction on environmental protection and climate leadership.
