“As weapons of war have become commonplace in America, so has the unfathomable carnage they wreak on our communities. We applaud Representative McBath for introducing innovative legislation that would regulate assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, which are capable of creating devastating destruction in an instant.” – John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety

John, yesterday I introduced brand new legislation to protect our communities from gun violence. The Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms Exclusion (GOSAFE) Act would honor the constitutional right to own a firearm for legitimate use, while keeping these dangerous weapons out of the hands of those who should not have them.
If passed, this bill will save lives. I’ve made ending gun violence a top priority since I was first elected to Congress in 2018, and I’m proud of this important step towards ensuring Americans don’t have to live in fear.
However, this legislation has to gain momentum. John, can you sign on right now as a citizen co-sponsor to help put pressure on Congress to support this critical legislation?

This legislation is personal, John. Since my son Jordan was shot and killed almost 12 years ago, it’s been my life’s mission to ensure no more families will go through what mine did.
GOSAFE will prevent unusually lethal firearms from falling into the wrong hands. We cannot become numb to the death and destruction these weapons have wrought on our communities – this bill will help prevent more needless deaths.
You can do your part to help it become law by signing your name as a citizen co-sponsor. Every signature counts!
Thanks so much,
Lucy McBath
