*Gov. Beshear Presents 2024 Governor’s Ambassador Awards*

"State employees receive awards for public service"

*FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 4, 2024) *– Today, Gov. Andy Beshear awarded the 2024 Governor’s Ambassador Award to six state employees and one Kentucky State Police team in a ceremony held in the Capitol Rotunda.

“Public service is valuable and life-changing. Our state would not be where it is today without the efforts of over 30,000 state employees,” said Gov. Beshear. “During the last four-plus years, we have all worked together to accomplish some incredible things. You have dedicated your careers to helping build a better Kentucky, and that is truly special.”

Created in 2008, the Governor’s Ambassador Award was established to highlight stories of employees who have positively influenced the lives of co-workers, customers or the community. There are six nomination categories for state employees: customer service, courage, leadership, professional achievement, teamwork and community service and volunteerism.

“As showcased in events like these, state employees often go above and beyond what is required of them in their professional duties,” said Mary Elizabeth Bailey, secretary of the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet. “It is truly our honor to have the opportunity to highlight some of the amazing stories of the work that our state employees are doing.”

This year, the Personnel Cabinet received more than 110 nominations. The winners for 2024 are:

* *Community Service & Volunteerism Award –* Amy Carder, Cabinet for Health and Family Services;
* *Courage Award –* Jason Keaton, Energy and Environment Cabinet;
* *Customer Service Award –* Heather Campbell and Meagan Dunn, Justice and Public Safety Cabinet;
* *Leadership Award –* Andrea Queen, Cabinet for Health and Family Services;
* *Professional Achievement Award –* Wesley Turner, Energy and Environment Cabinet; and
