Democrat Eric Swalwell represents California's 14th Congressional District. 

Friend, my message is clear: I will always be an ally, advocate, and safe-space for the LGBTQ+ community because LGBTQ+ rights are human rights.

But the fight for equal protection under the law is far from over. As we join hands in celebrating Pride Month this year, members of the LGBTQ+ community face renewed attacks from MAGA extremists who continue to use their identities as a political weapon.

MAGA won’t say it out loud, but it couldn’t be more obvious: Their anti-equality agenda includes action to ban drag performances, ban LGBTQ+ history, and legislation that bans gender-affirming care. Full stop: they’ll continue to try and legislate away the rights of millions of LGBTQ+ Americans.

Not on my watch, friend. This Pride Month we must reaffirm our commitment to celebrating the love and equality that so many in the LGBTQ+ community have fought their entire lives for.

Pride Month is more important than ever for our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and community members. Join me in celebrating Pride Month with open hearts, open minds, and the courage to fight back against hateful, anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric.

At the end of the day, love conquers hate, and love is love.
