Join us Tuesday, June 18 from 3-4 p.m. ET for a Health Affairs Journal Club meeting discussing a qualitative study from our June issue about how community groups can harness their power to address inequities in public health outcomes.

Author Clara Long of Human Impact Partners will discuss “Community Power–Building Groups And Public Health NGOs: Reimagining Public Health Advocacy,” with Health Affairs' Jessica Bylander.

In interviews with representatives of twenty-two national nongovernmental public health organizations and thirteen community power–building organizations, the authors explored the nature and potential of partnerships between public health and community power–building organizations.

They suggest ways to close advocacy gaps within the public health ecosystem and strategies for how public health can strategically leverage its power, resources, and expertise to support social justice campaigns and movements.

Date: Tuesday, June 18, 2024

Time: 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Eastern

Place: Online details will be shared with registrants 24 hours in advance of the event
