Last Thursday, a jury of everyday Americans found Donald Trump guilty of 34 felonies, making him the first president or former president in American history to be found guilty of a crime.1
But despite this reality and Trump's long history of lying and corruption, the right-wing media is spinning a narrative of victimization and retribution, feeding misinformation to millions of viewers. They're calling for vengeance, attacking everyone from the judge to President Biden, and further undermining the legitimacy of our justice system.2
Even mainstream observers like Joe Scarborough—a former Republican representative—are shocked by the alternate universe created by these media outlets, where facts simply don't seem to matter.3
The reality is that no matter how much those in the right-wing echo chamber deny it, Trump has been convicted on 34 felony charges by a jury of his peers in New York.
Up until this point, Trump had repeatedly broken the law and gotten away with it.
Now, he's finally just beginning to be held accountable. But, let's be clear-eyed: If Trump goes back to the White House, he'll use the presidency, along with the corrupt MAGA justices he appointed to the Supreme Court, including Samuel Alito—who flew two separate "Stop the Steal" symbols at his homes following the January 6 insurrection—to circumvent accountability and put a stop to his THREE other criminal trials in Georgia, D.C., and Florida.4,5
Our next step is clear: We counteract the right-wing media's misinformation by spreading the word that Trump's been convicted of 34 felonies. No one is above the law—and we must do everything in our power to keep this man out of the White House.
To help do that, we've produced "Trump is a Felon—No One is Above the Law" stickers and are giving them away for free—while supplies last. We hope you will order one and place it somewhere visible so that everyone in your community can see and help spread the word.
Trump has been convicted, by a jury of his peers, of breaking the law by deceptively hiding critical information from voters ahead of the 2016 election. But instead of acknowledging the gravity of his crimes, his media allies are fanning the flames of division and calling for revenge against his political opponents.
We must ensure that voters across the country know that he has been found guilty and are reminded of that fact over and over and over again until Election Day. We must make sure that this news matters, and sinks in with voters, and that the right-wing echo chamber doesn't win.
Thursday was a historic day—and showed that our justice system can work and that no one is above the law, not even the president.
This criminal was our president for four long years. And the terrifying truth is that many of the latest polls show him ahead of President Biden in the race to become president again.
While the verdict is a step in the right direction, we know that the only people who can truly save us from Donald Trump are ourselves. We need to spread the word and make sure that everyone out there understands that Trump is a convicted criminal.
And then, stay with us in this fight. It's time to put our shoulders to the wheel and use our people power to defeat Trump once and for all.
