John, COVID-19 has taken an unprecedented toll on all of us. Nearly one in ten workers will face furloughs or layoffs, and many of us are in need of immediate support.
Folks are looking for answers and for accurate information about what help is available. This Thursday, we are hosting a tele-town hall with labor and civil rights leaders to discuss COVID-19 relief efforts and existing resources available to those who have lost work here in Illinois and across the country.
Thursday's tele-town hall will be led by SEIU Local 1 President Tom Balanoff, labor attorney Stephen Yokich, and Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights CEO Lawrence Benito.
If you are interested in learning more about existing relief legislation and what more Congress is doing to protect American workers, sign up below and join us Thursday, April 16th at 6:00pm CT.
My goal is to do whatever I can to keep you all informed, to answer whatever questions I can, and to win this election in November so that we can take this coalition to Washington and fight for workers, better healthcare, and an economy that works for all of us.
Thanks,
Marie
