Have you
heard of scam PACs?
They’re political action committees that raise money under the pretense of
supporting certain causes or candidates, but then spend most or all of the
money they raise on “consultants” instead.
They’re a shameful way to make a quick buck. Politics shouldn’t be a
get-rich-quick scheme for consultants with no morals or conscience.
Unfortunately, a new article from the ABA Journal highlights scam PACs
could be on the rise:
Scam PACs are some of the worst offenders when it comes to the more
deceptive and cynical fundraising tactics: Things marked with “Warning:
Payment Incomplete” to scare people into donating under false pretenses.
Or fundraising appeals that promise your contribution will be “400%
matched” when no such match exists.
As a consumer protection attorney, Katie has despised these tactics for a
long time. It’s why she’s always insisted that our email program be among
the most ethical in politics, and it’s why she introduced the Stop Scam
PACs Act and SCAM PAC Act to finally crack down on these scammers.

scams, will you pitch in $5 or any amount today to help us
support and elect Democrats who will carry Katie’s torch of working
against corruption in Washington?
