Last night, we sued Louisiana for the 28th time, AND we filed a case against Tennessee, adding to our growing list of recent cases challenging state attempts to use the COVID-19 pandemic as cover to shut down abortion clinics.
We are now fighting abortion restrictions issued under the cover of COVID-19 in FOUR STATES.

Louisiana has been trying for decades to shut down abortion clinics and now anti-abortion politicians are taking advantage of a pandemic to push their agenda. We are already at the U.S. Supreme Court fighting a separate medically unnecessary Louisiana law that would shut down nearly every clinic in the state. If Louisiana's latest actions are not blocked, that outcome will become a reality before the Supreme Court rules.
But we've already had some incredible victories that send a clear message that these bans under the guise of COVID-19 are unconstitutional and unjustifiable. Just last night, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit ruled in our case that abortion care can continue in Oklahoma during the pandemic. And in our case against the state of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit ruled that clinics can continue providing essential, time-sensitive medication abortion care while the court considers the state's latest appeal. Despite this order, many patients still cannot access abortion procedures in the state.
Things are moving so quickly, and many states continue to shamelessly use the pandemic to deny access to essential, time-sensitive abortion care.
