Last month, the Republicans on the House Agriculture Committee passed their partisan draft of the Farm Bill. While millions of Americans are struggling with food insecurity, the proposed legislation would cut $30 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) over the next decade – our nation’s most important anti-hunger program.

Team, these would be the largest cuts to SNAP in over three decades. SNAP is vital to providing tens of millions of Americans with the assistance they need to put food on the table, including over one million people right here in Massachusetts.

Working families deserve a Congress that works to make their lives easier, not harder.
