An Absolute Travesty of Our Judicial System
Thursday's guilty verdict against President Trump is an absolute travesty of our judicial system.
There was no crime, and the prosecution's star witness was a convicted liar and an admitted thief.
The judge was biased against President Trump throughout the entire trial. This will be reversed at some point, but the Democrats got what they wanted - to prosecute and persecute a man they know they cannot beat in November.
If the Democrats can do this to a former president, they can do it to anyone in America. That should frighten every American. New York and Biden have turned our country into a third-world-style justice system that goes after political opponents like you see in Russia or North Korea.
A sad day for America.
America Is at Great Risk Because of Judge Merchan
There was no crime. There was no evidence.

Dade Phelan Sides with the Democrats
This letter, signed by 46 Republicans, which will likely grow over time, makes it clear the only way Speaker Dade Phelan, who doubled down on appointing Democrat Chairs in his recent campaign, can be re-elected Speaker is by a handful of a small minority of Republicans and a huge majority of Democrats. That would be a kick in the teeth to Texans who elected an overwhelming Republican House majority. Phelan would hand over power to the opposition because they would hold his fate as Speaker, "do what we say, or you are out." For two sessions, Phelan killed, weakened, or never gave conservative bills a hearing if the Democrats didn't want them to pass.
When I became Lieutenant Governor in 2015, I removed all but one Democrat Chair from the Senate. Now, we have no Democrat Chairs in the Senate. We reset the rules to stop Democrats from blocking conservative legislation. We still work across the aisle when we can. For example, the $100k homestead exemption, which Phelan tried to kill several times, passed 31-0 in the Senate. Still, we don't give Democrats the power to stop conservative legislation as Phelan does in the House. That's why we are the most conservative Senate in Texas history.
In Case You Missed It Last Year…
Here are examples of some of the bigger conservative bills Speaker Dade Phelan killed to keep the Democrats (who elected him as Speaker the last two years) happy so he could keep his speakership. If these conservative bills had come to the House floor, I believe the Republican members would have easily passed them. We have many good conservative Republicans in the House. The problem is Speaker Phelan is more concerned about stopping bills Democrats don’t want to pass instead of what Republicans do want to pass.
My Official Statement on the Overwhelming Response to the Texas Energy Fund Loan Program
Since Winter Storm Uri in 2021, I have been abundantly clear that we must bring new dispatchable generation (primarily new natural gas plants) to Texas to ensure we maintain reliable power under any circumstance. Improving our grid is essential for the Texas Miracle to continue throughout the 21st century.
As of Friday morning, 81 applicants representing over 41 gigawatts of dispatchable power generation projects have applied for the competitive low-interest loan program provided through the Texas Energy Fund to keep up with our growing state.
Here is my official statement regarding the overwhelming response to the Texas Energy Fund Loan Program.
Thank you all for your support and everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
Dan Patrick
Lieutenant Governor of Texas
