Alex exemplifies our motto, #She’sTheChange. After a 26-year career as a high-ranking executive at Bank of America, she ran a successful statewide campaign for Florida’s Chief Financial Officer, becoming the first Democratic to hold statewide office in Florida in almost a decade. Alex served as CFO in our State Cabinet from 2007 to 2011, managing over $15 billion in state treasury funds while fighting for accountability and transparency for consumers.
After winning her election, she had a mission for Florida: to elect dynamic, experienced Democratic women up and down the ballot to make real change in our State.
In 2008, Alex founded Ruth’s List Florida as a way to build the bench of Democratic pro-choice women leaders serving in state and local government. Her legacy and impact remain strong today through Ruth’s List, which has trained more than 2,500 women to run for office and has elected 250 endorsed candidates to office in Florida. Alex is a member of our Board of Directors today, and with her guidance, we continue to recruit, train, endorse, and elect a record number of women every year.
Alex Sink inspires us all, and I want to celebrate her this year by sharing personal messages from our Ruth’s List members and supporters. The community we have built at Ruth’s List is unmatched, and the strength of our supporters is a testament to the power of Alex’s vision.
Friend, will you sign Alex’s birthday card and leave a message for us to share with her on June 5th?
