Dear John
I hope you found ways to enjoy the
four-day weekend even in these tough times.
I enjoyed hosting a special Easter
version of our weekly Sunday Night quiz. We have over 60 households
taking part every week and everyone is welcome - why not join us at the usual time of 8pm
next Sunday via this Zoom link.
Meanwhile, our Calling With
Kindness initiative continues to grow across the capital. This week
I spoke to The Big Issue about
it, as well as highlighting
the need for the Government to develop an exit strategy for the
homeless - nobody should be turned back onto the streets at the end of
this crisis.
To build on the Calling with
Kindness success, we’re going to have a group session this
Thursday 16th April for everyone who would like to make some
calls.
We will all meet on Zoom at 6pm for
a quick hello and run through of how to do the calls. Then we will
each make some calls for around an hour, after which we join up again
on Zoom at 7.15pm for a debrief and chat.
Finally, my
letter calling for our essential supermarket workers to be paid
the London Living Wage, the minimum they need to live on in our city,
appeared in the Evening Standard today. Please sign my petition to show your support.
Many thanks for everything many of
you are already doing to help others during this period.
Kind regards
Siobhan Benita
Liberal Democrat Candidate for
Mayor of London
