From the Editor

Dear friends and partners,

It is evident that we are all adapting to a new way of life as most of us have experienced significant changes in our day-to-day routines, both personally and professionally, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Because this kind of unexpected transition can be tough, it is important that we all work together to support one another through the uncertainty. During these perilous times, Prosperity Now has remained committed to our advocates and partners throughout the field by providing continuous resources that will assist them in weathering this crisis. Our teams have conducted listening sessions [[link removed]], and organized webinars [[link removed]] that have all been dedicated to guiding rapid response for individuals and programs serving low- and moderate-income families.

As we move into the spring, we plan to continue our efforts to fill gaps within the field that were caused by the unprecedented health crisis across the nation. Just last week, we released a new Scorecard brief [[link removed]] that describes a tale of two kinds of communities – one that will be greatly impacted by COVID-19, but stands to recover; and one that will face economic devastation if we don’t take immediate policy action. We’ve also been sure to keep you updated about the latest regarding the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act [[link removed]]; the effects of COVID-19 on consumer protections [[link removed]]; general COVID-19 resources [[link removed]] from across the field; and much more.

Take a look at our newsletter to gain more insight about our COVID-19 response; to hear from our teams around Financial Capability Month and Fair Housing Month; and to get caught up on two insightful reports from our Racial Wealth Divide Initiative (RWDI) around the experiences of leaders of color in the philanthropy field.

Wishing you all good health and prosperity,

Kristin Lawton
