This June, POV proudly presents two exceptional collections that honor both Juneteenth and PRIDE, featuring powerful stories of justice, identity, and equality.
Explore The Color of Justice playlist, commemorating four years of impactful films that delve deeply into the systemic inequalities and injustices faced by Black and Brown communities. From the intimate journey of Idris and Seun navigating one of the most prestigious private schools in American Promise to the harrowing case of four African-American lesbians wrongfully charged in Out in the Night, this collection illuminates the critical intersections of race, gender identity, and the criminal justice system.
Our specially curated PRIDE collection showcases vibrant voices within the LGBTQ+ community. Experience the courageous story of 16-year-old Ñoño in Things We Dare Not Do, as he bravely expresses his desire to live as a woman despite societal challenges, and follow 19-year-old Hunter “Pixel” Jimenez navigating life as a nonbinary trans boy in To The Future, With Love. These documentaries capture the essence of identity, belonging, and the pursuit of equality, offering transformative insights into the LGBTQ+ experience.
We are also thrilled to announce that While We Watched has won the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award in the Documentary category.
